happy birthday jade!

are you really 7 years old today? wow, how time flies. i can't believe how big and independent you are. you're so sweet, polite, have excellent manners, stand up for your little brother, and you always listen to me! everyday, i'm amazed at all the things you've accomplished in your short life of 7 years. do you know how incredibly intelligent you are? i don't run into a lot of kids that knew how to write their abc's at age three. 4 was a big age for you. that was when you learned how to read. that was when you learned how to play chess. that's when you learned how to play golf-9 holes! but i can only imagine what lies ahead. you are truly an example of being able to do anything when you put your mind to it. i remember your first day of kindergarten. i wasn't sad and i didn't cry. i was so excited for you! i knew you'd have a blast in school and you did. remember when your teacher forgot the word for spelled out sounds? and you told her they were called "onomatopoeias"? she sure got a kick out of that, didn't she? now you're getting older, starting to get into fashion, talking on the phone, listening to your party hits c.d.'s on your discman, and exchanging BFF charms with your friends. i can't believe you're this little "person" that i love to watch as you grow. but no matter how old you get, even when you start your own family, you will always be my baby girl. if the way you turned out so far says anything about my skills as a parent,then i know in my heart that i'm the best mommy in the world.
